Frequently asked questions

Short answers first. Each service and guide page has more questions specific to it.

Is DryBridge a restoration company?

No. DryBridge is a free referral service. We connect you with independent, local restoration companies that serve your ZIP. They do the work and set their own prices.

What should I do first when water gets into my home?

Stop the source at the fixture valve or the main shutoff, turn off power to wet areas if you can do it safely, photograph the damage, and get extraction and drying started the same day.

How fast can someone get to my home?

It depends on the company's schedule and your location. Emergency requests are routed first, and the company will give you an arrival estimate when they call.

Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Sudden, accidental damage such as a burst pipe is commonly covered. Gradual leaks, outside flooding and sewer backups are often excluded unless you have specific coverage. Check your policy.

How long does water damage take to dry?

Most clean-water losses dry in 3 to 5 days with professional equipment. Hardwood, plaster and concrete can take longer.

Does it cost anything to use DryBridge?

No. There's no charge to call or send a request. The restoration company quotes its price to you before starting work.

How do I know the company is licensed and insured?

Ask for their license number where your state requires one, and a certificate of insurance. Our state pages list the licensing board to check.

What is category 3 water?

Category 3 or 'black water' is contaminated: sewage, floodwater from outside, or water that has sat long enough to grow bacteria. Porous materials it soaks are removed, not dried.
